WE DEMAND
We, as citizens of Pakistan, urge the government to prioritize economic, budgetary, social, governance, institutional and environmental reforms to ensure a decent quality life for all its citizens and meet the fudamental needs of people. We believe these reforms are essential for achieving sustainable & equitable economic growth, poverty reduction, inequality, and promoting social justice in the country.

OUR DEMANDS

We, the citizens of Pakistan, urge the government to prioritize
economic, budgetary, social, governance, institutional and
environmental reforms to ensure a decent quality of life for all citizens
and to meet the needs of the people. We strongly believe that these
reforms are essential to achieving sustainable and equitable
economic growth, reducing poverty and inequality, and promoting
social justice in our country.

We call upon the government to undertake the following reforms:

Transparency & Accountability

Advocate for increased transparency and accountability in government processes, such as making government budget and expenditure details publicly accessible, promoting citizens engagement in decision making, demanding regular reporting on government actions, and fighting against corruption

Strengthening Institutions

Working toward strengthening democratic institutions, such as advocating for an impartial and independent judiciary, ensuring a free and impartial electoral process, police reforms to ensure it is free of political patronage, and enhancing the capacity and autonomy of oversight bodies like anti-corruption agencies and ombudsman office.

Rule of Law

Advocating for the upholding of rule of law by promoting legislative reforms, supporting efforts to combat impunity, advocating for fair and efficient judicial system, and demanding the protection of human rights and civil liberties for all.

Good governance practices

Promoting good governance practices, including fostering transparency and inclusivity in decision making processes, supporting the adoption of ethical codes of conduct for public officials, improving quality of life, and advocating for effective public administration.

Financial Management

Advocting for sound financial management practices, including advocating for responsible budgeting, effective public procurement systems, and efficient and transparent use of public funds.

Decentralization and Local Governance

Advocating for decentralization of power and resources to local government, promoting participatory decision making at the local level, and demanding accountability of local authorities to the citizens they serve.

Legislative Reforms

Advocating for legislative reforms that align with good governance principles, such as enacting laws that promote transparency, accountability, and citizen participation, environment protection laws and supporting the review and amendment of outdated and ineffective laws.

Civil Society Engagement

Advocating and supporting the active involvement and meaningful participation of civil society organizations, community groups, and citizens in decision making processes, policy formulation, and implementation.

Service Delivery

Advocating for improved service delivery by advocating for better access to quality education, healthcare, clean water, and basic infrastructure, and by demanding efficient and responsive delivery of public services.

Anti-corruption Measures

Advocating for comprehensive anti-corruption measures, including advocating for the enactment and implementation of strong anti-corruption laws, and supporting the strengthening of anti-corruption agencies, and demanding accountability and punishment for corrupt officials.

Finally, we urge your government to ensure a fair minimum wage for every person eligible to work, currently estimated at Rs 60,000-80,000. This will ensure that all workers receive fair compensation for their labor and can support themselves and their families.
We believe that these reforms are essential to building a prosperous, equitable, and inclusive Pakistan. We look forward to seeing concrete actions from your government in implementing these reforms.
