Your Lordships,

We, the Alliance for Civic Transformation (ACT), a body of concerned citizens, wish to draw your attention to the ever-deteriorating political climate in the country. As law-abiding citizens of Pakistan, we are particularly perturbed by the recent announcement of the ECP, postponing the elections to the Punjab Legislative Assembly, scheduled for 30th April, 2023.

As mandated by the Constitution and the Supreme Court's decision in its suo moto case No.1 of 2023, the announcement by the ECP is not only a violation of Article 224 of the Constitution, but is also in contempt of the Supreme Court of Pakistan by not adhering to the date
given by the President of Pakistan in accordance with the Supreme Court decision for holding elections to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab.

This is a blatant violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, a denial of the fundamental rights of the citizens of Punjab & KPK, and in contempt of the Supreme Court decision in its suo moto case on the subject.

Your Lordships, we feel this is a serious breach of trust between the citizens of Pakistan and the State. If allowed to go unchecked, we fear it may lead to a state of anarchy in the country.

We sincerely hope that as custodians of law, your lordships will take cognisance of the matter and take immediate corrective measures.

Respectfully submitted,
On behalf of the members of *Alliance for Civic* *Transformation, (ACT).
